Scientific and Technological Platform BIOREN-UFRO

The Scientific and Technological Nucleus in Bioreources (BIOREN-UFRO) has highly specialized centralized facilities and laboratories to provide research services and strengthen multidisciplinary R&D in biological resources and associated bioprocesses related to food production, environmental sustainability, and human health. In this way, it provides research services for the utilization of biological resources, the development of the Region, and the Country.

Agroindustry Institute - South Node CETA - UFRO

The Agroindustry Institute is an interdisciplinary institute equipped with state-of-the-art equipment that makes it unique in southern Chile, to generate and evaluate ideas for new products aimed at satisfying current and future trends in the consumer market, through R&D projects that contribute to innovation, technology transfer with impact in their areas of competence

The South Node CeTA-UFRO is part of the linkage strategy that the Technological Center for Food Innovation carries out to position the food industry in Chile and make the country one of the world powers in the production of sophisticated and sustainable food.

Department of Chemical Engineering

The Department of Chemical Engineering of the University of La Frontera was founded on September 1, 1982; it carries out teaching, research, and extension activities in areas of knowledge related to physical, chemical, and biological processes applied to the rational use of natural resources, environmental preservation, and industrial and health applications. Since its opening, it has positioned itself as an institution of broad renown in the country and abroad.

Doctoral Building

Our program has had access since 2017 to the Doctoral Building thanks to the Performance Agreement on Internationalization of Doctorates (FRO1204), which consists of a three-story building with a total area of 597 m2, and which it shares with the Doctorate in Natural Resources Sciences and Doctorate in Sciences mention in Applied Cellular and Molecular Biology of the Universidad de La Frontera.

Central Library

Located in the Bello Campus, with more than 5,000 m², the Central Library is a service in which more than twenty staff members work in six sections: Information Technology, Acquisitions, Technical Processes, Circulation, Digital Resources and Tools, Theses and Journals. The last three - oriented to public attention - operate under the open shelving modality.
